Cycling for Fun
Cycling for fun means simply enjoying your bike trips. It doesn't matter at all how long you take or how many kilometres you manage to cover. The most important thing is that you really enjoy yourself and take time to appreciate the lovely surrounding countryside with its incredible views.
One of the most beautiful cycle tracks in Europe leads from the Passo Resia pass through the Val Venosta valley and on down south as far as lake Garda. The well-laid out, 80 kilometre long Val Venosta stretch meanders past imposing glaciers and through apple orchards and vineyards and is clearly marked. It follows the banks of the river Adige and is perfect for cyclists who simply want to enjoy the ride and the breath-taking scenery from Resia as far as the renown spa resort of Merano and on to the warmer climes of lake Garda. The route takes you past Medieval towns, idyllic little farming villages, mighty castles, emerald-green pasture-land, shady forests and perfumed fruit orchards with the soothing, pleasant sound of the bubbling river in the background.
Guided "Cycling for Fun" Tours:
The Naturno Tourist Office and the
Ötzi Bike Academy organise two guided Cycling for Fun tours weekly and other excursions in and around Naturno. Some tours start from Naturno itself while others mean taking the new Venosta Railway to a nearby village first before hitting the road. Our expert bike guides accompany you on rides through the flowering apple orchards, past towering strongholds and impregnable castles and through picturesque little farming villages.
